4 MINUTE OF MEETING OF 27 APRIL 2017

5 COMMUNITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATION - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES.

NOTED

5.1     that Mr William McCartney had been nominated as the representative from The Royal Burgh of Wigtown & District Community Council as detailed at paragraph 3.4 of the report;

5.2     that Mr John Wilson had been nominated as the representative from The Royal Burgh of Whithorn & District Community Council as detailed at paragraph 3.5 of the report;

AGREED

5.3      that meetings of Whithorn and Wigtown Common Good Funds Sub-Committee would to be held at 6.30pm, before a Community Council meeting, of Whithorn and Wigtown, alternatively, in September and April each year as detailed at paragraph 3.7 of the report; and

5.4     to request further information on the reasons why Community representatives are non-voting and whether this could be changed to voting at this Sub-Committee.

6 WHITHORN COMMON GOOD FUND : APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE WHITHORN GOODWILL COMMITTEE - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES.

Decision

 

NOTED

6.1     that Whithorn Common Good Fund currently had a capital balance of £43K invested as detailed in paragraph 3.9 of the report;

6.2     the free funds of the Whithorn Common Good Fund were estimated at £2,641 as detailed in paragraph 3.9 of the report;

6.3     that the estimated free income available for disbursement in financial year 2017/18 for the Whithorn Common Good Fund is £610 as detailed in paragraph 3.9 of the report;

AGREED 

6.4     to award Whithorn Goodwill Committee £610 as per the recommendation in paragraph 3.8, Table 1 of the report; and

6.5     to request further information from Finance on where the 43K was currently invested for the Whithorn Common Good Fund with a view to determining if this was giving the best return available.

7 ANY OTHER BUSINESS DEEMED URGENT BY THE CHAIRMAN DUE TO THE NEED FOR A DECISION
