3 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Decision

 

NOTED that Alistair Geddes and Kirsty Currie declared an interest in Item 6 - Whithorn Goodwill Committee due to their standing attendance at the annual Christmas event but determined that their interest was such that they did not require to leave the meeting for this item.

 
4 WIGTOWN COMMON GOOD FUND - MONITORING TO 28 FEBRUARY 2014 AND FINANCIAL PLAN 2014-15 - REPORT BY HEAD OF FINANCE.

Decision

 

NOTED

4.1     rent and investment Income would remain relatively static and was forecast to be £185;

4.2     free income of £224 remained available for distribution in 2013/14;

4.3     free income available for grants for 2014/15 was expected to be in the region of £46; 

AGREED

4.4     to carry forward the £224 remaining from 2013/14 to have a total free income of £270 for 2014/15;

4.5     to receive more detailed information on the "Heritors of Wigtown" payment included in the Monitoring Report; and

4.6     to request that the Head of Finance look at alternative sources to invest the money from the Wigtown Common Good to provide a better return and to report back.

5 WHITHORN COMMON GOOD FUND - MONITORING TO 28 FEBRUARY AND FINANCIAL PLAN 2014-15 - REPORT BY THE HEAD OF FINANCE.

Decision

 

NOTED

5.1     grants of £2,916 had been made in the year to date;

5.2     free income had been fully expended in 2013/14;

5.3     free income available for grants during 2014/15 was expected to be in the region of £1,692;

AGREED

5.4 to request that the Head of Finance look at alternative sources to invest the money from the Whithorn Common Good to provide a better return and to report back; and
5.5 to receive an update on the implementation of the decision taken at this sub committee on 26 September 2013 regarding investments together with the options on the improvement of the investments for the Wigtown and Whithorn Common Good Funds and to action as required.

6 WHITHORN COMMON GOOD FUND - APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - REPORT BY HEAD OF IMPROVEMENT AND ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES.

Decision

 

NOTED

6.1     that it was estimated that the free income available for financial year 2014/15 was £1,692;

6.2     the decision taken at Wigtown Area Committee on 2 April, 2014 in relation to this application; and

6.3      AGREED to grant the sum of £500 to the Whithorn Goodwill Committee towards their Annual Christmas Party for 2014 from the Whithorn Common Good Fund.
