Ian Blake declared an interest in Item 6, Application for Financial Assistance Under Purpose One: Annual Grant towards insurance and minibus expenses in 2016-17, by virtue of being the Council's representative on the Dalbeattie Day Centre and determined that his interest was such that he would remain in the meeting for consideration of this item.

Decision

 

AGREED to award £600 to the Dalbeattie Friendship Club towards the costs associated with coach hire for social outings for members of the club during the financial year 2016/2017.

AGREED to award £500 to the St Cuthbert’s Club for the Disabled towards the costs associated with social outings for members of the club during the 2016/17 financial year.

6 APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER PURPOSE ONE: ANNUAL GRANT TOWARDS INSURANCE AND MINIBUS EXPENSES IN 2016/2017 - REPORT BY HEAD OF CIVIC AND LOCAL SERVICES

6.1      that Dalbeattie Day Centre are likely to be in receipt of an amount of £1,600 from Transport Scotland during 2016/2017;

 

6.2     that the 2016/17 Financial Plan, presented to the 4 February 2016 meeting of this sub-committee, forecast a maximum payment of £12,000 to Dalbeattie Day Centre during the financial year 2016/2017; and

 

6.3     AGREED to award an amount of up to £12,000 to Dalbeattie Day Centre towards the cost of minibus expenses and day centre insurance costs in the 2016/2017 financial year, subject to payment being made on submission of receipted invoices on a regular basis.

Summary of Report - This report provided information regarding applications for financial assistance from individuals to the William Blyth Trust.

9.1     a grant level of £90 as per the Financial Plan for 2016-17;

 

9.2     the payments of grants to existing applicants numbered 1 to 59 as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report subject to all applicants having returned the necessary paperwork, NOTING that number 48 would be withdrawn as the person had deceased; and

 

9.3     the payment to the new applicant subject to the return of the necessary paperwork.
