4 INTERIM CHIEF SOCIAL WORK OFFICERS END OF YEAR ASSESSMENT OF BUSINESS PLAN PERFORMANCE - SOCIAL WORK SERVICES - REPORT BY INTERIM CHIEF SOCIAL WORK OFFICER

Decision

 
4.1 REVIEWED the overall summary of performance of the Social Work Service; and

 

AGREED

4.2 having scrutinised the exception reporting, that the actions proposed were adequate to improve performance and future monitoring of areas which had not met the target as detailed in the exception reports, RECOGNISING the areas of good practice/high performance where the target had been exceeded and the need to improve performance in the use of Information Technology and IT systems, particularly in connection with the Community Health and Social Care Integration agenda.

5 ADULT SERVICES UPDATE - REPORT BY INTERIM CHIEF SOCIAL WORK OFFICER

Decision

 
5.1 AGREED that work on the review of Adult Care, including people with a learning disability, people with a physical disability and people affected by mental health illness or substance misuse, would now be taken forward with partners in the context of the Integration of Health and Social Care;

 

5.2 NOTED the current position regarding tendering for elements of the current home care provision, and AGREED that future commissioning intentions would be considered on a partnership basis as part of the work in developing the Integrated Strategic Plan;

 

5.3 NOTED the work in relation to the voluntary day centres for older people and AGREED that this work would also helpfully be taken forward in the context of locality planning;

 

5.4 NOTED the progress made in implementing Self Directed Support and AGREED that a further report would be presented to Social Work Committee in Autumn 2014 detailing the next phase of the implementation plan; and

 

5.5 NOTED the work carried out to date on the review of commissioning and AGREED that the detail of the recommendations would be reported to Committee in August.

ASSOCIATION OF DIRECTORS OF SOCIAL WORK ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 18-19 JUNE 2012 - REPORT BY INTERIM CHIEF SOCIAL WORK OFFICER

 

Decision

 

7.1 AGREED that Richard Brodie and Karen Carruthers would attend the Association of Directors of Social Work Annual Conference on 18 - 19 June 2014 on a residential basis.
