4 COMMUNITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATION - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES

Decision

 

4.1 NOTED the relevant paperwork has been received for the non-voting Members of Stranraer Common Good Fund Sub-Committee as detailed in paragraph 3.4 of the report; and

 

4.2 NOTED that meetings of Stranraer Common Good Fund Sub-Committee will be arranged as and when required.

5 APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES.

PROCEDURE - The Sub-Committee was advised that the balance of the estimated free income available for distribution from the Stranraer Common Good Fund for financial year 2017/2018 was £7,732.17 as the allocations made by the Wigtown Area Committee on 14 June 2017 had not been taken into account in the report.

 

Decision

 

5.1 NOTED that the estimated free income available for the Stranraer Common Good Fund for financial year 2017/18 is estimated at £7,732.17;

 

5.2 NOTED that within the free income available the amount available to award from The Henry McDonald Fund is estimated at £800;

 

AGREED

5.3 that in light of the lasting health, wellbeing and social benefits to the inhabitants of Stranraer to award Stranraer Football Club £2,000;


5.4 that in light of the lasting health, wellbeing and social benefits to vulnerable children and their families in Stranraer to award Wigtownshire Family Support Group £5,000;


5.5 that in light of the contribution towards the wellbeing of the volunteers and the opportunity for them to learn transferrable new skills to award the Stranraer Furniture Project £7,500;


5.6 that in light of the enhancement of wellbeing, social community inclusion and contribution to the positive image of the town, to award the Stranraer Community Fireworks Display £5,000; and

 

5.5 to allocate £12,567.83 from the Capital balance to make the shortfall of funds available.
