PROCEDURE - The Chairman, on behalf of the Police, Fire and Rescue Sub Committee, congratulated Kenny Simmons on receiving the Queens Fire Service Medal

 

The Chairman, on behalf of the Police, Fire and Rescue Sub Committee, thanked the previous Chairman, John Syme, for his hard work and dedication to the Sub Committee and it was AGREED that the Director write to John Syme to convey the Sub Committee's thanks.

4 POLICE FIRE AND RESCUE SUB COMMITTEE - APPOINTMENTS TO OUTSIDE BODIES - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES

AGREED to appoint the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Police Fire and Rescue Sub Committee to the Police Scotland Dumfries and Galloway Continuous Improvement Group.

5 POLICE SCOTLAND DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY LOCAL PLAN 12 MONTH PERFORMANCE UPDATE: 1 APRIL 2016 - 31 MARCH 2017 - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES

SCRUTINISED the performance report for Dumfries and Galloway from Police Scotland for the period 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017, as detailed in the Appendix to the report, NOTING that the Local Police Commander was to present a report to the Police Scotland Scrutiny Board on new ways of reporting information to the Sub Committee.

7 SCOTTISH FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY REVIEW AND SCRUTINY OF 2014-17 LOCAL PLAN AND CONSULTATION ON NEW DRAFT LOCAL PLAN - REPORT BY DIRECTOR COMMUNITIES

NOTED

 

7.1     the very informative presentation by Station Manager, Ian Anderson

 

7.2     the three year review of the Dumfries and Galloway Local Fire and Rescue Plan 2014-17 at Appendix 1 of the report;

 

7.3     SCRUTINISED the Dumfries and Galloway draft Local Fire and Rescue Plan 2017 at Appendix 3 of the report and considered the consultation questions at Appendix 4 of the report;; 

 

7.4     the Director Communities would collate the responses to the consultation from this Sub Committee and Area Committees as the basis for the Council's response to the consultation;

 

NOTED

 

7.5    that Full Council would be asked to consider and agree the Council’s response to the consultation at its meeting on 26 September 2017, this extension to the deadline of 3 September 2017 having been granted by the Local Senior Officer; and

 

7.6     that the final draft Dumfries and Galloway Local Fire and Rescue Plan 2017 would be presented to Full Council for agreement on 14 December 2017.
