3 FINANCIAL STATEMENT 2013-14 - REPORT BY HEAD OF FINANCE

Decision

 

NOTED

 

3.1    that it was anticipated that the Fund would only have free income of £120 available for granting in 2013/14; 
3.2    that should awards be granted at similar levels to previous years, i.e. approx £1,000, then this would have no detrimental effect on the Trust for the immediate future; 

 

AGREED

 

3.3    to supplement the free income by using some of the surplus generated in prior years; and
3.4    that the Finance Officer pursue alternative banking arrangements which would increase the income of the Trust.

5 LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1973

Decision

 

AGREED to adopt a resolution to exclude the public from the meeting in terms of Section 50A (4) of and Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

 
6 APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING 2013-14 - REPORT BY HEAD OF IMPROVEMENT AND ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES

Decision

 

6.1     AGREED that the total amount awarded at this meeting should not exceed £1,000 and therefore granted funding of approximately £16 per eligible applicant as follows:
6.1.1  £380 to Lochar Thistle Youths AFC for coach development costs, NOTING that 21 members resided within the former Burgh;
6.1.2  £480 to Dumfries Baton Twirlers for coaching for the European Championships in Germany 2014, NOTING that 30 members resided within the former Burgh; and
6.1.3  £180 to Solway Sk8ing Club to provide specialist coaching for the three performance synchronized skating teams based at Dumfries Ice Bowl, NOTING that 11 members resided within the former Burgh.
