4 QUEEN OF THE SOUTH SUPPORTERS SOCIETY (QUEENS TRUST) - REPORT BY HEAD OF LIFELONG LEARNING AND WELLBEING

Decision

 

4.1     NOTED that a meeting would be arranged for June between Queen of the South Football Club, Queens Trust, nominated Members of the Common Good Sub Committee and the Service Manager Leisure and Sport to progress this issue; and

 

4.2     AGREED to nominate Tom A McAughtrie and John Martin to participate in the discussions, representing the Dumfries Common Good Sub Committee, noting that any decision required would come back to this sub-committee.

5 DUMFRIES LEARNING TOWN - LEARNING HUB COMMUNITY COMPANY - REPORT BY DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND LIFELONG LEARNING

Decision

 

AGREED with the proposal to lease an area of land at King George V (KGV) to a Community Company for the purpose of providing a Learning Hub which is the key aspect to delivering Dumfries Learning Town.

 
6 DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL AND NHS DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY JOINT FIBRE OPTIC DUCT PROJECT - REPORT BY DIRECTOR CORPORATE SERVICES

Decision

 

NOTED that there will be two not one fibre optic duct crossing and that the fibre optic duct will be bored within the river bed and not on the bed as stated in the report.

 

AGREED to give consent to a new joint fibre optic duct being laid under the bed of the River Nith in order to provide a route from Monreith House on the Crichton Estate to the new hospital.
