4 DELEGATIONS TO AD HOC BRIDGE EDUCATIONAL TRUST SUB-COMMITTEE - REPORT BY HEAD OF LEGAL AND DEMOCRATIC SERVICES

MEMBER John Charteris entered the meeting during this item - 8 Members present

 

Decision

 

NOTED the remit of the Ad Hoc Bridge Educational Trust Sub Committee (1) to receive regular reports for consideration against the business plan; and (2) to act in appointment of charity trustees as required (in accordance with paragraphs 72-77 of the constitution.

5 DUMFRIES LEARNING TOWN, THE BRIDGE EDUCATIONAL TRUST (SC048045) - APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES - REPORT BY DIRECTOR CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND LIFELONG LEARNING

Decision

 

NOTED

 

5.1 that the constitution of the Bridge Educational Trust (Appendix of the report) was approved by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator;

 

5.2 that the Bridge Educational Trust (SC048045) has now been granted charitable status by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator as detailed at 3.6 - 3.7 of this report;

 

5.3 APPROVED the appointment of trustees as follows:


Richard Grieveson, Head of Lifelong Learning, Children, Young People and Lifelong Learning, Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Rachael Williams, Acting Head Teacher, Children, Young People and Lifelong Learning, Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Jeff Leaver, Elected Member and Chair of Children Young People and Lifelong Learning Committee, Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Ros Surtees, Elected Member and Vice Chair of Children Young People and Lifelong Learning, Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Professor Dave Roberts, Knowledge Exchange Director, Regional Dean, SRUC Barony Campus, Parkgate, Dumfries.

5.4 REQUESTED that officers look at the constitution with particular regard to sections 69.2 and 69.3 with a view to improving representation local to Dumfries on the trust.
